At UCAN, our comprehensive university guidance programme is designed to meet the unique needs of each student. Here’s how we support your child through every step of their academic journey:

Initial Meeting

• Understanding Aspirations: Discuss university choices, areas of study, and educational requirements.

• Guidance and Insights: Provide information on suitable institutions, pathways, potential pitfalls, and advantages.

• Practical Considerations: Help students understand costs, UK status situations, accommodation issues, travel, visas, and considerations for Foundation years (pre-undergraduate degree).

Follow-Up Sessions

• Making Decisions: Guidance on where to apply.

• Application Process: Assistance with completing application forms (usually via UCAS in the UK), application letters, and essays. Help in addressing immigration issues and finding appropriate solutions.

• Application Follow-Up: Continuous support in tracking and following up on applications as needed.

Post-Acceptance Assistance

• Scholarship Applications: Guidance on identifying and applying for scholarships.

• Academic Mentoring: Support with academic requirements to ensure acceptance.

• Accommodation and Travel: Advice on university accommodation and travel arrangements.

• Reapplication Support (Clearing): Assistance if a student is rejected due to unmet academic requirements, including navigating the Clearing process.

When to Begin the Process

We recommend starting the university placement process by the sophomore year of high school, ideally three years before graduation.
